How many numbers do you need to win a prize on Mega Millions?
The smallest win is just the Mega Ball, which pays $5. There are 9 ways to win. Without the Mega Ball, you need three numbers at $10.
Does matching just the Mega Ball win anything?
Yes. The Mega Ball on its own pays $5. One white number on its own pays nothing.
What is the Mega Millions jackpot actually worth?
Less than the advertised figure. It's paid out over decades, the cash option is usually about half, and it's split if more than one ticket wins.
