The smallest win is just the Mega Ball, paying $5. There are 9 ways to win. Without the Mega Ball, you need three numbers at $10.
Does matching just the Mega Ball win anything?
Yes. The Mega Ball on its own pays $5. A single white number on its own pays nothing.
What is the Mega Millions jackpot actually worth?
Less than the figure advertised. It is an annuity paid over decades, the cash option is often around half, and it is divided if more than one ticket wins. That is why we do not print a number next to a jackpot match.
