How it works
Take a photo of your ticket with the camera you already have. There's nothing to download, because this is a web page and not an app. It works the same on an iPhone, an Android, or a laptop with a webcam.
We read the numbers off the photo and show them to you.
You check the reading
Every number shows up in an editable box before anything is saved, in the order it's printed on your ticket. Fix anything that looks off.
This matters more than it sounds. A ticket read wrong by one digit looks completely normal and can never match, and nothing about it tells you what happened. You're the one holding the paper, so you're the one who can catch it.
We don't keep the photo
We read it and delete it. The location your phone saves inside a picture is stripped before the photo goes anywhere.
Nothing on this site loads from anyone else, either. No analytics, no tracking pixel. Open your browser's network tab and see for yourself.
What it will not do
It will not read a scratch card. Those are settled by the barcode at a retailer, which is a different job.
It won't read a ticket from a lottery we don't cover. Guessing the game means guessing the prize table, and we'd rather tell you no.
And it won't tell you your ticket is a winner. Only a retailer can do that, and only your paper ticket can be claimed.
Taking a photo that works
Flat, in good light, with the whole ticket in frame. On most tickets the numbers sit near the top, so a long ticket only needs that part.
An angled photo usually works. A flat one works more often. And a picture already sitting in your camera roll is fine.

Questions about scanning a ticket
- How do I scan a lottery ticket on my phone?
- Take a photo of the ticket with your phone camera. There's no app to install, so it works the same on an iPhone or an Android. We read the numbers and show them to you to check.
- Do I need an app?
- No. There's nothing to download. Open the page in your browser and take the photo.
- Can I scan scratch cards?
- No, only tickets with printed numbers that get matched against a drawing. A scratch card is settled by its barcode at a retailer, which is a different job.
- Which lotteries can you read?
- Gimme 5, Lotto America, Mega Millions, Millionaire for Life, Powerball, Powerball Double Play and Tri-State Megabucks. If your ticket is from a lottery we don't cover, we'll tell you rather than guess.
- Is it free?
- Typing a ticket in is free and unlimited, and you don't need an account. Reading one from a photograph needs a free account and comes with 5 free scans, because photos cost us money to read.
- Do you keep the photo?
- No. We read it and delete it. The location your phone saves inside a picture is stripped before the photo goes anywhere.
- What if it reads a number wrong?
- You'll see every number before anything is saved, in editable boxes, in the order they're printed on your ticket. Fix anything that looks off. One wrong digit gives you a ticket that can never win.
- Does it work on an old ticket?
- Yes. It'll also tell you if the drawing has already happened. Claim deadlines vary by state, so an old ticket is still worth checking.
